Kirsten moved to St. George in 2010 from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Shortly thereafter she began playing violin in the orchestra at Arrowhead Elementary.  She quickly realized her love for the violin and for music.  At age 8, she began private lessons with Rachel France (Concert Master, Southwest Symphony).  Under Rachel’s direction, Kirsten has received numerous honors and awards including Southern Utah Performing Arts Festival (SUPAF) Intermediate Strings Outstanding Performer 2019 and was awarded a cash scholarship at SUPAF 2020. She recently performed as 4th chair in the 2020 Utah All State High School Orchestra.

At age 12, she began taking piano lessons.  She currently studies piano with Mark Gubler at Resonance School of Musicianship. Mark has continued to push Kirsten as a student of music and as a pianist.  Kirsten has earned numerous Superior Ratings for her piano performances at the SUPAF and recently completed the Piano Pedagogy Program with Resonance School of Musicianship. Kirsten believes music connects people and provides happiness to our souls.  Her goal as an instructor is to provide students with an appreciation for music while steadily increasing their knowledge, ability and confidence.   Outside of music Kirsten enjoys tennis, wakesurfing, and being with her friends and family.   She loves board games and the outdoors.
