A Free Trial Lesson is a 30min lesson during which students and teachers can evaluate compatibility without a monetary commitment. Students are welcome to have a trial with as many teachers as necessary to find the best compatibility.

Resonance Student Policy

By attending lessons you agree to abide by this policy.


  • Registration: There will be a registration fee of $15/student due upon enrollment with your first month of tuition. Receipt of your registration fee reserves your placement at Resonance. Lessons will not be scheduled until the first month of tuition and fees have been paid. 

  • Recitals: Resonance hosts many recitals throughout the year. Our service recitals at care centers and Veteran homes are always free. Our formal recitals require a performance fee of $10 per performer. 

  • Tuition: 

    • Tuition is considered due on the 1st of each month. Because Resonance is a year round school, tuition amounts stay consistent each month and do not vary based on the number of lessons received that month (2-5 lessons). Rather, tuition is divided amongst the amount of lessons you will receive throughout the year (48 lessons). For further clarification see Student Attendance.

    • Late fees will be assessed per student as follows: $10 after the fifth of the month. An additional $5 will be assessed every five days thereafter. Any accounts that have not been paid in full by the last day of the month (or 30 days after the creation of the invoice) will be suspended, and assessed a suspension fee of $50 per unpaid student on the account. 

    • Tuition can be paid online through monthly automatic payments or monthly invoices. Cash or checks are also accepted. Please place payment in an envelope with your name and place it in the drop-box located in the office. Checks should be made out to Resonance. 

    • A one-time discount will be added to each account set up on monthly automatic payments. $5 when using a card and $10 when using bank transfer. 


Student Attendance:

  • Students who are more than 10 minutes late for a lesson will not be guaranteed their lesson time.

  • Tuition will not be reimbursed for absences in private lessons, classes or other group events. 

  • No lessons will be held the week of Thanksgiving, two weeks over Christmas and New Years, and the week of Spring Break. (for questions about tuition payments on these months please see FEES)


Reschedule Policy: 

We value the commitment made to attend every lesson on time, but we understand there will be times that this is simply not possible. That is why we created this policy:

  • In the event that you will not be able to attend a lesson, please submit a “Reschedule Request” form at least 1 week prior to your scheduled lesson. This will guarantee that your lesson will be rescheduled for a different time within that semester (possibly with a substitute teacher).  

  • Students may not submit more than 2 reschedule requests per semester. (January - April) (May - August) (September - December). The only exception being a National Holiday where school is not in session (must follow reschedule request procedure).

  • If you are unable to reschedule a lesson to a different time, and still wish to get the most out of the situation, we would be happy to arrange either a remote lesson (phone call or video call), attempt to provide a substitute, or invite you to offer your lesson time to a friend or family member.

  • Our Reschedule Policy only applies to private lessons. Classes and other group events are not available for reschedule.


Teacher Attendance:

  • Your lessons are a serious priority to our teachers. If circumstances prevent their attendance, your lesson will be rescheduled, or a substitute teacher provided.

  • In the rare event that a lesson can not be rescheduled or a substitute provided, a lesson credit will be applied to your upcoming tuition payment.


Referral Program: 

  • Refer a friend, and receive $25 off your next tuition payment when they commit to lessons. To redeem this credit please fill out the referral form located next to the sign-in in the student portal.

  • Receive $15 off the first month for each additional student who enrolls on your account. 


After Hours Entrance: 

I understand that if my lesson is scheduled after 6:00 PM or before 11:00 AM  I must enter the school through the back entrance (located on the west side of the building).


Photo Release: 

Unless requested in writing, Resonance is granted permission to take photographs/videos/recordings of students to use in promotional materials.  Permission is also granted for such materials to be copyright under Resonance School of Musicianship.



Students assume all risk of injury or harm associated with participation in musical activities at Resonance and agree to release, indemnify and forever discharge Resonance and its owners from all liability, claims, demands, damages, costs, and expenses. Resonance is not responsible for providing before or after class care for students.



Withdrawing from Resonance is to be done in writing one month prior to withdrawal, by submitting a “withdrawal request” form (located next to the student portal found on the Resonance website). Please be advised that tuition responsibilities will continue until the one month withdrawal period is complete.
